2024 Audition Details

Auditions & Mandatory Parent/Guardian Info. Sessions:

Mandatory Parent/Guardian Info. Sessions:

Parental attendance at BOTH of these sessions is a requirement for participation. Non-attendance will result in the performer not being cast.

12:00pm – Production Info Session

1:30pm – Artistic Info Session

Auditions for males & females, ages 8 & up (age as of 9/1/24)

Use the guidelines below to register for the most appropriate audition. 

All auditionees must be currently enrolled in dance class(es) at any school/studio. Do not register for an audition outside of your age as of September 1, 2024. If you have previously been a part of CYB’s production, and are under 8, you are still eligible to audition.

-11:00am-

• Ages 8 & up with some dance training
• Suggested: Students enrolled in at least 1-2 hours dance/movement class per week with 0-3 years previous training

-12:00pm-

• Ages 9 & up with an intermediate level of classical ballet technique
• Suggested: Student typically enrolled in at least 2 ballet technique classes per week (in addition to other genres), with at least 3 years of formal training.

-2:00pm-

• Ages 12 & up with strong classical ballet technique, including pointe work for female identifying dancers
• Suggested: Student typically enrolled in at least 3 classical ballet classes per week (in addition to other genres), with at least 5 years of formal training. Female identifying dancers should be prepared to audition in pointe shoes. 

-Boys age 8+ with movement or sports experience needed!- 

• This is for boys that do not have dance experience, but that are involved in sports or movement activities. If interested, please email us at Info@CityYouthBallet.com by Wednesday, September 11th. 

-Adults- 

• Non-dancing adults (extras) do not need to audition. If you are interested, please email us at Info@CityYouthBallet.com by Wednesday, September 11th. We will have a very limited number of roles available.

Auditions will begin promptly at the designated time. Please arrive early to check-in and prepare. No one will be admitted to auditions late. Parents, plan to stay close by for the duration of your child’s audition. Performers will be dismissed as they are done and may not need to stay the entire time.

There will be no make-up auditions held for this production.

Please read City Youth Ballet Policies and complete the online audition application prior to your audition. All audition applications must be completed online.

Audition Fee: $40 (due upon application completion)

Performance Fee: $75 (due by September 21)
